CAD Revit GIS Planner

This position will function in several roles, including: as a CAD/BIM Technician, GIS Analyst, and Project Planner for MCG projects that include airport, roadway, and environmental projects.  This position provides planning and design production support and electronic file management. 

REQUIREMENTS:

o Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, GIS, Geography, Urban Planning, Engineering Technology or similar;

o Minimum two (2) years of experience working with CAD software - Bentley, Autodesk such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, 3D modeling software, or similar;

o Minimum two (2) years of experience working with GIS software - ESRI, ArcView, ArcMap, ArcGIS, similar;

o Minimum of one (1) year of experience working on transportation projects - highways, rail, or airport;

o Experience with BIM models - Revit, Navisworks or other 3D software preferred;

o Experience with data management is preferred;

o Good oral and written communications skills, and confidence in representing firm at client meetings;

o Medium to High proficiency working with Geodatabases and ESRI ArcGIS software suite is a must;

o Medium to High Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD Map 3D Version 2012) is a must;

o Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook);

o Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously;

o Detail-oriented, organized;

o Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team member;

o A can-do attitude; ability to perform assignments effectively and efficiently, with a sense of immediacy, while maintaining high quality standards.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Prepare drawings and exhibits using Revit, AutoCAD Map 3D and Civil3D;

o Develop databases and integrate into GIS system;

o Import/export data between AutoCAD, Revit and ArcGIS;

o QA/QC incoming datasets per predefined CAD standards;

o Provide related CAD and GIS support to support company projects;

o Manipulate BIM Models (Revit 360);

o Develop quantity takeoffs using CAD & BIM to support cost estimating projects; and

o Provide technical analyses and report documentation.

 

LOCATION:

We are seeking candidates for positions in the Orlando, FL area.

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Senior Cost Estimator

We are seeking a senior cost estimator with multi-discipline expertise with solid cost estimating experience who can participate in and lead the firm’s estimating team, coordinate with clients on assignments, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and handle varied engineering responsibilities as part of the MCG professional staff. Excellent collaboration skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of commercial/governmental building and civil construction methods are required; also the ability to prepare technical proposals and market cost estimating services to others. Experience preferred in commercial buildings, airport, schools, water, sewer and municipal buildings. Cost estimating expertise by discipline preferred for architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, communications, and technology. Familiarity with CSI disciplines required.

REQUIREMENTS:

o 4-year Bachelor’s Degree is required in engineering, architecture, construction management or equivalent;

o Expertise in civil, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, architectural or structural commercial construction;

o Work experience providing cost estimating on commercial and/or governmental projects;

o Knowledge of construction scheduling is a plus, including expertise in MS Project and Primavera;

o Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and Adobe Acrobat;

o Good writing skills;

o Excellent verbal communication skills;

o Organized, detail-oriented;

o Ability to work independently and also lead a small team;

o Collaborative attitude; and

o Excellent work ethic.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Attends project team meetings, representing firm;

o Prepares cost estimates for all levels of project development (i.e., rough order of magnitude (ROM), schematic, 30%, 60%, 90% design level plans and specifications, 100% bid documents, and change order evaluations);

o Provides quantity takeoffs for variety of CSI work categories;

o Develops unit cost and labor costs accurately for projects;

o Coordinates effectively with design team, construction contractors, suppliers, equipment providers, and construction firms to detail pricing, scheduling, availability, and market trends;

o Performs technical reviews on construction documents and documents comments;

o Develops schedules for construction implementation;

o Leads and coordinates estimate development with other specialty estimators, and meets critical deadlines;

o Is proficient or can quickly become proficient with cost estimating software; and

o Coordinates with clients to provide clarifications of intent, and establish alternatives with a variety of professional disciplines.

 

LOCATION:

This position is based at the firm’s Winter Park office; a congenial, professional office environment.

Civil Engineer – Entry Level

REQUIREMENTS:

o Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar; 

o Engineering Intern (EI) preferred; 

o CAD software skills such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStation, and GIS software preferred;

o Good oral and written communication skills, confidence in representing firm at client meetings; 

o High proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Powerpoint, Word, and Excel; 

o Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously;

o Proficiency with Microsoft Publisher preferred; 

o Detail-oriented, organized;

o Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member;

o Reliable transportation.
